Farmers Get A Lot Of Field Time Last Week

(Undated) -- Farmers in Fulton County had plenty of time in the fields this past week, and planting progress surged ahead in some areas. State Crop Statistician Todd Ballard says there were five days suitable for fieldwork, and farmers took full advantage of that time. 77-percent of Oats and 12-percent of Sorghum has been planted. 16-percent of Wheat has headed. Average statewide topsoil moisture stands at 15 percent surplus, 75-percent adequate and 11-percent short.
