High Protein Diet May Reduce Risk Of Stroke

(Undated) -- A high protein diet may be easiest way to cut down your chances of having a stroke. Doctor Jennifer Frontera is a neurologist with Cleveland Clinic and says a high protein diet will improve your cholesterol. Research showed people were 20-percent less likely to suffer a stroke if they ate at least 20-grams of protein each day. For each additional 20-grams, the risk of strokes dropped an additional 25-percent. Doctor Frontera recommends finding proteins in sources other than red meats.
