NRI Probe May Proceed

(Chicago, IL) -- It doesn't look like lawmakers are going to delay their investigation into Governor Quinn's anti-violence program. State Rep Ron Sandack says there's no reason to put things off, as the feds have asked. The U.S. Department of Justice apparently thinks the state probe will interfere with the criminal investigation. Republicans initially thought that might be a good idea but after considering the request at length, it looks like they've decided against it. At least seven members of the panel need to approve the delay and as of yesterday, the six Republicans on the 12-member panel weren't willing to do that.
