Canton Man Accused Of Violating Order of Protection (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after he allegedly violated an order of protection last week. Canton police say they spoke with 28-year old Joshua A. Russell on the telephone on Thursday of last week at about 9:45. Russel told them he was at an address in the 400 block of North 6th Avenue to retrieve a key to be able to get in an apartment on East Ash Street. He told police that he had been served an order of protection earlier. Officers then told Russell to leave the residence and to go to the Canton Police Department. He did and was later arrested for violating the order of protection. After being arrested, Russel was processed at the police department and later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Canton Man Charged In Domestic Incident (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing domestic battery charges after being arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say they were dispatched to 162 Robinson Court Saturday morning at just before 8:15 in regard to a domestic situation. An investigation discovered that 28-year old Calvin B. Jordan had been in a physical altercation with his girlfriend. Russell also allegedly broke her cell phone. Officers at the scene also found that Russell was wanted on an outstanding warrant, a 2010 Fulton County Warrant, failure to appear possession of cannabis. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on the warrant as well as additional charges of domestic battery and interference with reporting domestic violence. He was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown Peoria Woman Arrested Following Traffic Stop In Canton (Canton, IL) -- A Peoria woman is facing charges after a traffic stop in Canton last week. Police say they observed a vehicle leaving the gas station located at South 5th Avenue and East Linn Street, not using a turn signal. Officers conducted the stop at South 6th Avenue and East Cherry Street. An investigation found that the driver, identified as 40-year old Charlotte L. Webber, had a revoked driver's license. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. Webber posted a $120 cash bond and a $20 processing fee. She was then released after being given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Woman Arrested On Valid Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman who was wanted on a valid warrant was arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say they went to an address in the 500 block of South 3rd Avenue in Canton Saturday afternoon at just after 4:30, where they located 28-year old Charlesa A. Roberts. Roberts was wanted on a 2011 Fulton County Warrant for contempt of court. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed for the warrant. She posted a $300 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released. Roberts was then given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
