November Bad Month For Deer Versus Car Crashes

(Undated) -- IDOT officials are reminding drivers to keep an eye out for deer on the road. Spokeswoman Paris Ervin says car versus deer crashes usually go up during the month of November. Drivers should particularly be cautious at dusk and dawn when deer are most active. She says it's also important to keep in mind that deer usually travel in groups so if you see one, there's likely another close behind. There were about 15-thousand-300 deer versus car crashes in Illinois last year. Most of those were in Madison, Cook, Will, Peoria, and Lake Counties.
