Spree Killer Denied New Trial
(Springfield, IL) -- The Illinois Supreme Court has said "no" to accused serial killer Nicholas Sheley's bid to overturn one of his murder convictions. Sheley had argued that his Knox County conviction for the 2008 killing of Ronald Randall of Galesburg should be vacated because of pre-trial publicity. Sheley is serving life sentences for six murders committed during a string of attacks in June of 2008. He's awaiting extradition to Missouri, where he could face the death penalty if convicted for the murders of an Arkansas couple in Festus, Missouri.
