Former Peoria Manual Head Coach Recognized By Illinois House

(Peoria, IL) -- A former head coach at Peoria Manual High School was recently recognized by the Illinois House of Representatives. State Representative Mike Unes talked about the memories he had of the four Illinois State Championships won by Manual while McClain was on the staff, including three consecutive while he was the head coach. McClain's family was in the gallery on Tuesday. The Illinois House also made January 15th Wayne McClain Day in the state of Illinois. The resolution was sponsored by Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth a Representative from Peoria. McClain was the head boys basketball coach at Champaign Centennial at the time of his death.
